WITH A COP will be held December 2, 2008 at the
Chesterfield Wal-Mart
This will be our 16th year hosting
this event
.This annual event is our primary focus at
this Lodge.
Did you know that Shop
With a Cop was started at Lodge 112 back in 1992.
President Smith spearheaded this project. The first
year we took 50 children shopping. The second year we took
100 children shopping. Since 1994 we have taken 200
kids a year. So far we have helped 2,950 kids have a
better Christmas than they would have otherwise.
This year we have set a new goal. We have
pledged to take 300 deserving children shopping this year.
This will be the biggest Shop With a Cop event in the
programs history!
We need to raise $30,000 to make this a
reality. We do have a few very generous donors but we
also need the membership's help to raise funds.
Our annual golf outing that will be held
September 8 at Salt River Golf Course in Chesterfield
Township raises about a third of our funding. Other Lodge
events such as Friday night Bingo at 21 and Gratiot,
spaghetti dinners, Texas Hold Em tournaments and hall
rentals also support this cause.
We urge you to support your Lodge by
supporting these events. It only costs $100 to take
one needy child shopping but the happiness we give them and
the respect they gain for a blue uniform is priceless.
So please be generous if you can and I'm sure you will be
rewarded by knowing that you have given a child a memorable
Christmas.
